The article provides information on using the PitcheroGPS web app to understand and use performance metrics.
There are a number of performance metrics available to analyse within the PitcheroGPS web app.
For reference, all time measurements are displayed in hours and minutes (HH:MM) and all speed-related metrics are displayed in kilometres per hour or metres per second.
Performance metric definitions
|Performance metric||Description||Unit of measurement|
|Session length||The total length of the recorded game or training session.||HH:MM|
|The total distance covered during a recorded game or training session.||Kilometres and metres|
Default speed zones
Brackets for each speed zone:
|Kilometres per hour (kmph) or metres per second (m/s)|
|Max speed||Maximum speed achieved by an individual player in a session.||Kilometres per hour (kmph)|
|Accelerations||The number of times an individual player accelerated over the specified metres per second squared threshold (m/s²).||Number of instances|
|Decelerations||The number of times an individual player decelerated below the specified metres per second squared threshold (m/s²).||Number of instances|
The number of times an individual tracker recorded a g-force greater than the specified threshold.
In practice, this would pick up heavy tackles and landings, to help with injury prevention.
|Number of instances|
